Vacation Stress

I don't know about anyone else but planning a vacation stresses me out so bad! Laundry, packing, cleaning house, all of it just stresses me out. I have been planning our trip to San Francisco for next week and now I just want it over with. Once we're there it should be fun, we're going on a night tour of Alcatraz, and the Winchester house, the Aquarium at the Bay, Ghiradelli square, The Golden Gate Bridge, and staying on Fisherman's Wharf. But it will be the death of me until we actually get there and check in.

Maybe you could "lose" a child or two at Alcatraz, that might relieve the stress. Just thinking about taking my kids to all those places freaks me out. I like wide open space with no people... so I can see my kids and what they are doing. Wouldn't it be even nicer to have someone else do all the prep work? Have fun! It really does sound like a good trip.

Wide open spaces- amen! I like the beach for that very reason- your kids are old enough though to remember their phone number if they get lost. But they won't get lost because all the freaky people are so freaky they'll want to stay close! :) You will have so much fun. Take lots of pictures so that after the hustle and bustle of vacationing you can look back and know it was worth it. (Jim and the kids will actually get to vacation- you'll be the one having to worry about times/trips/schedules/everyone else's clean undies- if your hotel has any spa treatments you might as well book something while they veg in the room so you get to relax at least once... the role of the mommy is never done!)

A real vacation for mom is when dad is at work and the kids are at school. That's my vacation!
